ROBERTS ROAD / ANDERSON CREEK BRIDGE NO. 249 REPLACEMENT
Project Details
Client Name: Whatcom County
Construction Cost: $1.46 Million
R&E was a member of a multi-disciplinary design team tasked with replacing the existing bridge on Roberts Rd. over Anderson Creek. R&E’s work included horizontal and vertical profile design, drainage design, private property access design and development of the traffic control and detour plans. An interesting challenge was coordination with Whatcom County to develop a detour route on a single lane gravel road to provide access to homes whose access was cut off during construction. R&E also worked to optimize the roadway design to avoid triggering stormwater management requirements which would have added cost and potentially impacted private property. R&E continued providing construction support services during the construction phase.
